Job Title: IV Therapy Nurse – Casual Registered Nurse

Position Summary: Longevity Care Clinic is looking for a casual Registered Nurse to join their team! Longevity Care Clinic is a privately run, Nurse Practitioner-led women’s clinic in Fort St. John offering a variety of Women’s Health Services and IV Vitamin Therapy.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

• Conduct client health assessments prior to treatments, during, and after.

• Perform routine measurements, such as vital signs.

• Initiate IV access and administer IV treatments to clients.

• Provide client care by utilizing the skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching.

• Regulate and titrate the flow rate of the IV treatment and monitor the client continuously for adverse effects during and shortly after the therapy.

• Respond appropriately to any adverse events and provide Nurse Practitioner-ordered therapeutic interventions as indicated.

• Inform the Nurse Practitioner of any changes to the client’s condition during the IV treatment process.

• Provide written documentation of assessments, measurements, and all nursing interventions associated with the IV treatment process.

• Provide education and instructions to the client when appropriate.

• Perform routine nursing duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and BCCNM standards.

• Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality policies.

Skills and qualifications include:

• Formal experience and expert skill in peripheral IV initiation.

• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

• Able to communicate effectively with clients, the public, and members of the Longevity Care Clinic team using verbal, written, and electronic communication means.

• Exceptional customer service skills.

• Ability to promote client-centered care that demonstrates empathy for clients and sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences.

• Ability to manage challenging and emergency situations appropriately.

Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

• Graduated from an accredited nursing education program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent.

• Current registration and in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.

• Current Intravenous Therapy certification.

• One year recent related experience in a health care setting where IV therapy is given is preferred. Experience in an infusion clinic or oncology clinic is considered an asset. Hours of Work: Flexible

Salary: $40 per hour
